PHATFISH PLAYING LIVE
HISTORY/
2006-2010/
2008 saw the release of 15; a double album featuring the best of the band’s recorded output from the last fifteen years.

Throughout 2007 and 2008, the band had employed two young guitarists from their local church in Brighton; Jos Wintermeyer and Ben Hall. Jos and Ben were invited to join the band permanently at the end of 2008 and this brought an even rockier edge to the Phatfish sound.

In 2009, the now six-piece band returned to Kev Frost’s studio and recorded the In Jesus album. Ever-strong song writing and the punchy guitar lines made for a powerful result on a par with the classic Heavenbound album. Gigs throughout the UK followed including conferences such as Newday and Keswick. 2010 will build on that momentum with a tour planned for the autumn which will include raising money for Hope HIV.

As well as working in contemporary music, Phatfish are called to work as a worship band, both in their local church, and at national events such as Spring Harvest, New Day and New Word Alive. This has often been in conjunction with internationally recognised worship leaders such as Stuart Townend, Dave Fellingham and Kate Simmonds. They were the resident worship band for the hugely popular Stoneleigh Bible Weeks and were sometimes referred to as The Stoneleigh Band. Phatfish have appeared on numerous live worship albums and have shared the stage with Matt Redman and Tim Hughes at international events. They continue to support Lou Fellingham as she performs songs from her growing repertoire of solo recordings.

The band is increasing in profile, especially in the UK, and are song writing, gigging and leading worship more actively than ever. The years have done nothing to diminish their passion to serve God’s people through music. They are submitted to God and committed to their local church (CCK, Brighton UK) where they are all active members.
