Guaranteed
The
brand new album from Phatfish is here! Four years since their last studio
album of entirely new material, Guaranteed will not disappoint.
The songs are energetic and tuneful, with Lou Fellingham’s vocal upfront
and shining brightly. But it is also marked by a constant commitment to extolling
great truths about God and the eternal destiny that he has secured for us.
Many of the songs have been penned by Nathan Fellingham, who collaborated on some of them with respected songwriters Paul Oakley & Simon Brading as well as with wordsmith Andy Back. Nathan and Paul’s song Amazing God has been selected by Thankyou Music as Song of the Month for June 2007. Pouring Out, with its infectious groove and melody, highlight some of the teaching of Philippians 2 while Who Else Could I Run To? is an honest reflection on the sovereignty of God when our path ahead seems uncertain.
Mike Sandeman also contributed extensively to the writing. The potent This Year reflects his honest awareness of the reality of 21st Century life, while a collaboration with Nathan Fellingham has produced Holy Spirit, a profound description of the work of the third member of the Trinity and a heartfelt response on our part for more of his power in our lives.
Renowned producer Kevan Frost has brought out the best in the band’s playing and the end result is a wonderfully focused but joyful sound. Groove driven rock, huge melodies, brooding soundscapes and solid bass lines from Luke Fellingham – it’s all here.
This release has sprung from genuine dealings with God – full of passion, commitment, hard-earned insight and gracious revelation. This is Phatfish at it’s best. That’s Guaranteed.
